Product Descriptions

The Client

Sih’le is a boutique skincare brand that makes handcrafted small-batch soaps and oils using natural ingredients, to sell from an online store.

The Challenge

Product descriptions are particularly important when it comes to online shopping, because customers can’t smell or feel the product they are interested in. The goal was to create concise descriptions for these new products that gave a real feel for what they would be getting in that product.

My Strategy

I used words that invoke sensory imagery to help the customer imagine the smells, sights, and feeling of being transported to a tropical island.

The Client

The Pawsitive Collection is a business that produces natural supplements, balms, and sprays for dogs.

The Challenge

The client was rebranding and releasing new products. The goal was to create concise descriptions in the new brand voice, which is playful and caring at the same time. I happen to have a deadly allergy to peanuts, so I had to use my imagination here.

My Strategy

I used humor in this product description to convey the brand’s playful new identity. I used bullet points to highlight some benefits so that the description is easier to skim instead of looking like a wall of text.

For some products, I mentioned some scenarios in which this item would be useful (ex. during extreme weather) to help the potential customer see reasons why they should buy it.

The Client

Kindred is a business that handcrafts custom-made skis and snowboards.

The Challenge

The goal was to emphasize what makes Kindred unique: the beautiful artwork and tailored features.

My Strategy

I emphasized the marquetry which is Kindred’s unique selling point and included some technical aspects in the form of materials they use to make their boards. I also included what they do to minimize their impact on the environment, as sustainability is one of their core values.
