Content Writing
Informative Blog (<1500 words)
Blogs are meant to inform and/or entertain the reader. They help establish your brand as a thought leader, boost your search engine rankings, drive traffic to your site, and connect with your target audience. This is a blog I wrote for Dogs Naturally Magazine. It has a conversational yet educational tone, and refers to relevant statistics. I linked to related blogs within the same site to improve internal traffic and used bullets, bolded text, and subheadings to make the article easy to skim.
Long-Form Travel Blog (Storytelling)
This is a personal blog that documents a summer of working and traveling in West Bengal. This particular blog was not designed for marketing purposes, but it gives you an idea of my writing style and ability to entertain an audience using storytelling. This is a skill I can easily adapt to marketing blogs and other forms of content creation that have the goal of entertaining a target audience for a particular product or service.
Short-Form SEO Blog
All blogs should be optimized for search engines, since the whole point is to get traffic to your website. This is an example of a blog I wrote with very carefully chosen keywords in every H1, H2, and H3 position, as well as related keywords sprinkled throughout the paragraphs.
Even when writing with SEO in mind, writing for humans is my first priority. I keep the tone conversational and use clever word play where possible to hook the reader and keep them interested until the end.
Listicle
This is an example of a blog that uses a list format to get information across in a more easily…digestible way. Dividing content into lists is a way to organize concepts for the reader, and also makes your content more likely to come up in Google search results. Using questions people ask as headings also makes the content more Google-friendly. The goal of this listicle is to inform the target audience about a particular topic related to products sold by the client.
